 Now Soldiers//Casey Jones//Calico System//Evergreen Terrace

This show was put together after Evergreen Terrace’s Canadian tour with Hatebreed was postponed. Overall it was a fun night. I was able to network a little bit. I met a kid from a local band and he hooked me up with their EP.

Now Soldiers started the show. They are a fun band to watch. I saw them for the first time back at Pierfest with
Evergreen Terrace. It is hard to play a long set when you’re are hardcore band who’s songs are all shorter than
two minutes. This would shorten Casey Jones set as well. A lot of energy and a lot of hardcore dancing came from
their set. The only problem with Now Soldiers was that their vocalist Tyler was a little under the weather and his
vocals were a little off. Other than that, no complaints. They just put a new cd on Significant Records. Go pick it up.

Casey Jones took the stage second. It was good to finally see them, as they only tour around once a year (due to
their vocalist also being one of the guitarist for Evergreen Terrace). They only played for about 20 minutes. They
had the crowd singing along to every word. They played a few new songs from their cd “The Messenger”. They  also covered “Out of Step” by Minor Threat Hopefully they find some time to tour some more this year.

Calico System are one of the better metalcore bands in my opinion. They came out and just tore it up. The pits
were insane with kids hardcore dancing like there was no tomorrow. They mostly played material from their latest cd, “They Live”. A good band for direct support of Evergreen Terrace. Check them out as they will be on tour
with Scars of Tomorrow.

Evergreen Terrace came out and the crowd went wild. There were kids leaping everywhere to try to get up front to
sing along. Although they don’t have a new cd coming out any time soon, they did play a new song. They also
played favorites “Mad World”, “No Donnie…”, and their covers of “Sunday Bloody Sunday” and “Zero”. I would recommend that anyone who likes hardcore to see them live. They have one of the most intense live shows and some of the best fans you will find. See them on this summers Sounds of The Underground tour along with Gwar, As I Lay Dying, Trivium and more.
